Full Lock-down

Full Lock-down is used in a serious situation where the threat is inside, on, or very near to the school. Over the PA system we will transmit the following message:

This is a Together We Grow Learning & Childcare Centre Emergency

The school is now in FULL LOCK-DOWN!

We will then take the following steps:

  1. Students are directed from the hallway into the nearest classroom.
  2. Classroom doors are locked
  3. Everyone is kept facing away from the glass and doors.
  4. We stay away from open or exposed situations
  5. We pull down shades or drapes
  6. We turn off lights, and cover glass on door
  7. We take attendance, and note who is absent
  8. We do NOT contact the office, but wait until they contact us.
  9. We do not use radio, TV, or cell phones in the classrooms
  10. We remain calm, and reassure students that the emergency is under control.
  11. If gunshots are heard, everyone should lie on the floor
  12. We do not release anyone, until the Supervisor has called an All Clear
